Winter Habitats of Wildlife and Winter Activities in Nature
Respect Nature: Do Not Disturb Wildlife
The Municipality of Jezersko and the Jezersko Hunting Association are joining forces in a campaign to raise awareness about the importance of respecting nature during the winter months. At this time, wildlife needs peace and safe areas for shelter. It is crucial to understand that disturbing wildlife, causing them to retreat from humans, leads to the depletion of their fat reserves, which in winter, with limited food, can even result in death.
For easier orientation, we have provided a map with marked peaceful zones and winter habitats where visiting is not recommended. Please avoid these areas and respect the natural environment of the animals. We also encourage you to move exclusively along marked trails and paths that are listed as GPX tracks on official portals (
https://mapzs.pzs.si/home/trails and
https://www.outdooractive.com/sl/), for both ascents and descents. For ski touring enthusiasts, we have prepared a selection of recommended routes where movement is allowed and respectful of nature. More information about these routes can be found here: Jezersko Ski Touring. Snowshoeing and winter hiking follow the same guidelines as ski touring.
What are winter habitats?
Winter habitats are parts of the living space of wildlife populations.
What are quiet zones?
Quiet zones are larger areas of forested spaces where activities that disturb wildlife are limited or prohibited.
Thank you for contributing to the preservation of biodiversity by respecting nature!
